Hong Kong – Kowloon

Our first full day in Hong Kong – it was a beautiful sunny day with a bit of sun haze but we are staying only a few minutes walk to thee waterfront at the Star Guest House.

The Star Guest House is run by Charlie Chan and is run very efficiently. It is very clean and very small. For our day we decided to take the ferry across the harbour to the Central pier and we bought a pass on the Big Bus Tour. It’s a double decker bus tour that operates throughout the world in various international cities.

The Big Bus Tour gave us three individual bus tours, a tram ride to the Peak – the highest point on Hong Kong Island, a Sampan boat ride as well as a Harbour Tour.Hong Kong waterfront

This is one of my favourite photos of the day. While touring on the Sampan they took us through the little fishing harbour. these are the colourful bows of the fishing trawlers.image

This is Stanley Market – a quite famous market in the Aberdeen area. It was a very busy market.image

This is our street where we are staying. Up on the right is the Star Guest House. We are on the 6th floor – room 8 – how appropriate for those of you that know us personally.
