Gros Morne National Park

We arrived today in Gros Morne National Park and set up our campsite at the Trout River location. When we arrived we were the only ones here – even the Park Attendant was out on patrol.Trout River

We picked site 38 as it had a great location close but not right on top of the bathroom/washing facilities and it had its own waste water drain. This was important because there had been a bear in the area as the notice below states and any liquids that have may have food in it must be poured down the drain, this included any dish washing water.image

We spoke with the Park Attendant and it turned out that the bear was spotted a week ago. He was about a year and half old and they scared him off so he shouldn’t be any real concern but they are still advising that all foods be kept inside the camper.image

The Bear notice.Chilli in Gros Morne

Tracy made an amazing chilli on our little Napolean BBQ, along with some garlic bread it was just like Super Bowl Weekend!image

Just a preview of what we can expect on our hikes tomorrow. We are heading for the Green Garden trail early in the morning.
