Trying some fly fishing on the last day of the season. We didn’t have much luck. Newfoundland had received some of their highest rain falls in a long time and all of the rivers were a few feet higher than normal, which according to the local fisherman that we spoke with affected the fishing.
Some beautiful rivers and a non-resident can fish for trout on most of them if they stay within 800 metres of the highway and of course possess a licence. Salmon fishing is a different story for non- residents – you must hire a guide. Make sure you check out all of the fishing regulations so that you are sure to be fishing within the rules.
We had a beautiful day on the golf course. The Gander Golf Course had some beautiful holes and was definitely a challenge.
Over looking Gander Lake. Back at the Square Pond RV Campground – a great family run RV Park that had great facilities and backed onto Square Pond. It is located between Gander and Glovertown on the # 1.
