The Rocket & The YellowBelly Brewery – downtown St. John’s

After hiking at Cape Spear, we decided to stop at the Rocket to have a bit of lunch and to blog. Cape Spear is 19 km southeast of St.John’s by the way. The Rocket is like an old fashioned soup & sandwich place with unbelievable home cooked food, fish cakes, lamb & bourbon pies, lemon tarts hand much much more. It is definitely a place to visit and enjoy if you are downtown. The Rocket

The night before we found our brew pub – The YellowBelly served their own brew – a wheat beer, an IPA, a Red and a Stout. Excellent beer, food and people.

We met people from Brazil – a student studying Geography for her Masters, a family from Liverpool with a sister from Courtice, Ontario, an oil man from Louisiana, a helicopter pilot from Coldwater, Ontario and a Hydro man from Calgary. The Yellowbelly Brewhouse
